A new prototype for aquatic transport in shallow waters:

In 94, François Pessin, former of the aeronautics industry , chooses Guadeloupe to develop a new aquatic means of transportation; the "VTT" of seas, or sea bike. The VTT is a confortable pedal boat designed to optimize efforts to cross long distances without fatigue. This patented prototype is used commercially only in Guadeloupe.

Discovery of the mangrove swamp with minimum impact

Non-polluting, silent, and not disrupting for bird fauna and corals, the VTT of seas minimize impact on environment. It's a beautiful example of eco-vehicule wich respects biotopes. Stealing in the channels of the mangrove swamp, it is able to approach birds colonies without any disturbation. Thanks to the removable propeller, the machine can navigate over the little deep waters without damage for corals.

A tool in the service of the naturalist and scientist discovery as well as the protection of the media

The VTT is a great tool for discovery and control. It is now used gladly by the scientists to count colonies or to identify the new nesting birds which now return in the evening on small resting island after several years from absence. It has also allowed to get back on islands and to release birds entangled in fishing nets and dedicated t

Rehabilitation and development of a natural site into a floral park and educational leisure garden with a concern of environmental management

Fascinated of flora and nature, Christiane has dedicated her talents to the creation of this magic garden, real initiatory and educational discovery of the Guadelupian vegetation.

Everything is fitted out in the same respect for the site and for the ecosystem. Materials are natural and coming from the property. The waters of ponds and puddles, once recycled, irrigate plantations. Essences are chosen with care among plants native of the island.

One even can taste products, the lobsters with blue claws and the Koï carps grown in ponds and which can be fished and eaten on the spot. From the husbandry, the guest will also be able to acquire plants of garden and water produced on the spot.

A poetic route that is of use of excuse to the broadcasting of a message of protection and respect for the Guadelupian nature

Christiane abounds in ideas which have all for object to get people to know and appreciate Guadelupian nature, traditions and legends.

Walking freely in the park is a constant interpellation. The crying rock incites to lend oath and to read a poem dedicated to the nature. Maman D’LO's home, the mysterious princess of the realm allows to discover one of the most long-lived legends in the tradition of the tales of the Caribbean.

The garden is a meeting place privileged for the Creole families, on weekends.

It welcomes besides several events directed to the sensitization of the population in the respect for the water and for the environment: nature "fête", reading of Antilles writers texts, spectacles of dance by the river Rose.

School groups are also welcome.

Strong points

v  The educational mission of the garden
v  Christiane's creativity and her concern to pass on her passion
v  The conception and the environmental management of the site
v  A product which is appreciated by guests who are essentially native of the island

Our prawn hatchery produces juveniles and supplies all the Carribbean islands. We also produce red tilapia, red drum and fresh water prawn for human consumption. If you are interested by tropical aquaculture, biology of the raised species or ecology of the guadeloupean rivers, come to visit us. You can also practice fishing game or watch the prawn harvesting each friday morning.

Accomodation:

Protect the architectural heritage: Rehabilitation of the traditional Creole cases and houses and creation of new prototypes; eco-lodges

Among the Park certified service providers, there are two of the most beautiful Creole "Cases" and traditional houses of Guadeloupe renovated with success and a lot of taste. These are Habitation Massieux and Habitation Matouba . Not satisfied to have managed to preserve the architectural heritage of the island, the two owners have launched a new concept inspired by the " eco-lodges " of Central America by connecting wooden traditional architecture, opening and complete immersion in the nature, renewable energies, recycled materials and the environmental management of the site.
